Marriage..... How did this Birmingham girl meet her Bedfordshire boy ? Having made a last minute decision to join some friends on a week's holiday at a Methodist holiday centre in Sidmouth she came across a tall red haired lad and they 'clicked' immediately. They talked endlessly from the moment they met as though they had been lifelong friends which will surprise those of you who know David but will be of no surprise to those who knew Margaret. After many trips backwards and forwards between Luton and Birmingham and picnics in the Worcestershire countryside featuring her home made chocolate éclairs, the bait was well and truly laid and they married ten months later, a marriage which was to last for over 39 happy years. The wedding took place at Northfield Methodist Church in Birmingham in April 1970. The main church building has since been demolished. The service was conducted by the minister, Rev Charles Clarke and Rev Clive Scott the minister of David's home church in Luton.
